Things to Look for Before Buying an Aerial Photography Drone
December 21, 2017Drone Photography Services
December 26, 2017A lot of firms, business owners, and large corporations are beginning to invest in Drones despite the belief that the time has not come for drones’ services to be implemented to the society and ultimately, our every day lives. While some think this is a great time to harness the speed and power of drops in Technology, Real estate, entertainment, agriculture and even transportation, others think it’s too early to invest in drones because they cost a lot of money to maintain and the areas they are needed in requires consistent monitoring and operation.
For example, you can use drones in Agriculture to spray fertilizers on crops, run soil and field analysis, poison weeds, plant or harvest crops. Owning drones might complete an entire agricultural cycle (from planting to harvesting) but it costs money and it’s impact and usage has to be monitored at all times. Speaking of costs, Drones can detect the part of a farm that needs watering if it has a hyperspectral or thermal sensor.
Drone services are also used in entertainment to shoot aerial photographs and scenes that will usually require tall cranes and immeasurable heights. Two of James Bond’s films Spectre and Skyfall, The Wolf of Wall Street and of course Marvel’s Captain America Civil War were all filmed with drones to cover a huge amount of land and fight scenes – The Expendables 3 as well.
Another area drone’s services have been heavily implemented is in the military. Drones are used to survey an enemies’ camp or location before the strike team sweeps in.
Drones are also used in Mining for land and environmental inspection, terrain modeling which happens digitally and also providing mapping and surveying data for further evaluations. Miners also love to work with drones because they are harmless, can be used 24/7 and you can easily tell them what to do.
Drone services are also required in border control surveillance and search and rescue operations. These highly advanced drones have a thermal sensor that can detect a human body at any time even while in hiding. They can detect heat signatures from afar off under any weather. Although drones are used more for border surveillance and security than rescue missions.
The Future
DHL announced in 2015 that it would be shipping around the world with drones. On May 12, 2016, a video surfaced on Youtube. The video contained a new DHL delivery drone delivering a parcel. Drone services will spike heavily in the future. What we know so far is that drones cost a fortune to own and maintain but as the months roll by, we would experience more drone services, and they will make our lives easier.
It’s also important to note that there are some rules and regulations about owning drones for personal use, so be sure to check with the right government bodies before owning or flying one. In most countries in Africa, for example, you need to pay a permit fee of $360 to fly a drone.
